Gerald Pietsch, VMD
Dr. Gerald Pietsch graduated from
the University of Pennsylvania
School of Veterinary School in 1971.
Following graduation, he joined a
small animal practice in Westbrook
Maine and after 1 year was accepted
to a residency in cardiology at the
University of Pennsylvania in
Philadelphia. Subsequently, he
joined a veterinary hospital in
Hanover Massachusetts and practiced
there until joining his classmate,
Dr. Lawrence Shinnamon, in building
and opening Anchor Animal Hospital
in 1975.
Drs. Shinnamon and Pietsch practiced
together until 2002 when Dr.
Shinnamon retired. Since that time,
Dr. Pietsch has continued to operate
Anchor Animal Hospital. His
professional interests are feline
and canine cardiology, internal
medicine, echocardiography and
ultrasound. In addition to these
interests, he enjoys working with
rabbits.
Dr. Pietsch is a former chairman of
The Ethics & Grievance Committee of
the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical
Association. He is presently the
chairperson of the By-Laws
committee. When not working, Dr.
Pietsch enjoys his grandson,
photography, and woodworking.
Kate Pietsch, DVM
Dr. Kate Pietsch is a 2005 graduate
from Tufts University. She is
especially interested in exotics
(rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets, and
birds) and is actively developing
our exotics program. In addition,
she has strong interest in medicine
and surgical cases.
Melissa Caso, DVM
Dr. Caso graduated from Tufts
University in 2004. She enjoys
medicine and surgery of cats, dogs,
ferrets, and pocket pets. She has
special interests in dentistry,
dermatology, and preventative care.
Dr. Caso has one dog, two cats and a
three legged guinea pig she rescued.
She attended "Managing Common Feline
Problems" focusing on feline
respiratory, cardiac and ocular
diseases in October 2010. Dr. Caso
will be attending Ophthalmology
surgery course in October 2011.
Dr. Lencewicz
Dr. Lencewicz graduated from Tufts
University in 2004. She spent
several years working in an exotics
practice and joined our staff in
2008. Dr. Lencewicz sees cats, dogs,
rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets,
birds, reptiles, and amphibians. She
brings with her an extensive
knowledge of exotics as well as a
strong interest in chemotherapy,
ultrasound, and dentistry. She
attended oncology and exotic courses
at the AVMA conference in August
2010. Dr. Lencewicz will be
attending an ultrasound course in
October 2011.
Kelley Zucker
Dr. Kelley Zucker (formerly Dr.
Kelley Cummings) graduated from St.
Georges University in 2010. Before
joining the team at Anchor Animal
Hospital she completed a 1 year
rotating internship in
emergency/medicine/surgery at
Veterinary Emergency and Referral
Group in Brooklyn, New York. In her
spare time she enjoys travelling,
tennis and spending time with her
husband and her two cats, Bunny and
Boo. |
